Day 8: Slaidburn to Carlisle (note change of destination)

Awoke early to not a single drop of dew. Estimated 70 miles, yet to be completed.
Beautiful scenery - some familiar. Lots of hills, including spectacular pass
on very minor road, giving superb views into N.Yorks and Lake District.

Continues very hot with no sign of rain!! Running late today- further problems with pedals and crank, eventually
sorted in Kendal. Then two punctures!

No accomodation available in/near Carrick Fell and we need a shower(!) so
we're heading for Carlisle YH. Ian has gone on ahead to sort it out.
We're O.K and in good spirits, but it is proving a harder day today.
