Further update on Day 8: We under estimated our mileage a little - total for
the day was 95 which, together with various hiccups made it the longest and hardest day
yet. Arrived at Carlisle at 10pm, TIRED.

Day 9: Carlisle to Wanlockhead

Compared to yesterday, today has been a doddle! - 70 problem-free miles.
Felt good as we crossed the border at Gretna Green at 11am. YES!!

A strong breeze pushed us along to Dumfries where we stopped for provisions
and a cool-off by the river (it is still very hot).
Continued on, finishing with a long climb to the YH at Wanlockhead - the
highest village in Scotland!

We're over half way now and looking forward to the rest.
